Ever have one of those days where there seems to be a theme following you around? A golden thread nestles and weaves itself around conversations and bits of phrases overheard in muttered chatter. Sometimes it feels like a great cinematic movie where the ending is foretold early on in the golden threads sewn from the start.
TUNE MY HEART
This was the phrase I encountered over and over earlier this week. I heard it all day long.
"Tune my heart."
"Lord, tune our hearts to Your voice."
"Tune my heart to sing Thy grace."
"Help us tune into You."
It's almost as if God was up to something. Gently (blatantly) nudging us back to God's self; back to the voice of Holy Spirit saying, "follow me."
And so, we listen. Right? The very best thing to do is to look, listen, seek, find.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, tune our hearts to Your voice.
Tune us to the unforced rhythms of grace that You provide.
Your melodies are the sweetest and most forgiving. Amen
COME THOU FOUNT
Here's a version of the old hymn from which the line "Tune our hearts to sing Thy grace" comes from. Enjoy. Recorded a handful of years ago with some of the very best people around.
